Saraswati Sugar Mills Limited (SSML) is one of the pioneers in the Sugar Industry in India. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd., a diversified heavy engineering company engaged in manufacturing and project businesses with an extensive global presence.

SSML produces plantation white sugar of international standard and employs the latest technologies throughout its operation, right from cane cultivation to its end product i.e. Sugar.

The company has set up 100 KLPD Distillery with SLOP fired Boiler and 5.63 MW Cogeneration Power Plant during December 2021.

At the time of inception during 1933, the Mills started at a crushing capacity of 400 TCD. This has subsequently grown and now stands at an impressive 10000 TCD, making it among the largest sugar mills in India.

About 30,000 cane growers supply sugar cane from approx. 650 villages in the assigned area of the mill. The sugar mill has immensely contributed in bringing about prosperity in the rural area assigned to the factory by making prompt payments towards the supply of the sugar cane and undertaking various cane and rural development activities for the welfare of farmers.

The company lends its helping hand to the farmer community from sugar cane sowing to its harvesting at every stage.

Technical inputs, financial assistance, loans, and subsidies are provided to help the farmers to protect the sugarcane crop from pests/diseases to increase sugar cane productivity for increasing income of the farmers.

The company has about 600 employees on its payroll and also provides indirect employment for few thousand more.
